Milang Brigade

Following a fire which broke out during a harvest operation near Milang December 1948.  A fire fighting organisation was formed.
In 1950 it was registered with the Emergency Fire Service in Adelaide and become the Milang and Districts Emergency Fire Service.

In 1951 Fire pumps were stored in the Council Dept at Milang.
By 1957 donations enabled a purchase of an 1951 Austin truck to be used as a fire unit.  In 1966 the Council Depot became the Milang Fire Station, and in September an ex-army 1958 International truck was purchased from fundraising to replace the Austin. By 1977 another truck, an 1972 International truck was purchased as their second unit.
1990 Milang got a new Hino which is still their current unit

Milang is part of the Strathalbyn Group
